Here at Silverman Consulting, we get a lot of questions about the world of retail store sales consulting.

Below, you’ll find a list of some of our more frequently asked questions.

For store owners, their reputation is paramount. Whether you’re closing your store down or moving to a new location, it doesn’t matter. You care about your reputation. Silverman Consulting will work with you to protect your name and image as we execute your marketing and sales strategy.  Many successful Silverman sale events have even enhanced the reputations of our clients.

Yes, we ask all vendors to provide at least  a one year warranty against manufacturers defects on consignment inventory sold.

Your results depend on the type of store you own, the nature of your sale, your general market situation, and more. However, it’s not uncommon for a Silverman Consulting sale to double the revenue you may achieve with an unmanaged  sale. We’ve helped stores sell more than their previous year’s sales in a single sales event.

Silverman Consulting’s fees are geared to help you meet your needs. Depending on your situation, we generally structure them as a sales commission based on volume, but can also work on a fee based program.  We’ll work with you to find out which option is best for you.

We’ll send a retail consultant to your store to work with you and manage your sale. Your retail consultant will oversee all operations related to your sale. All of our retail consultants are highly experienced in retail sales & liquidation, and many of them also owned their own stores in the past. We’ll match you with a retail consultant who best understands the needs in your unique operation.

We can operate across North America, but our primary market is Canada. We’ve run retail sales events across the country in every province and in some locations in the US.

The Silverman brothers ran their first sale event in New York in 1945. In Canada the first Silverman Sale was in 1991, in Saskatoon.  Silverman Consulting & Retail Services is now a wholly Canadian owned company, separate from our US operations, but we maintain a close working relationship with our American colleagues.

Yes, of course you can. You’ve certainly run sales events in the past.

Silverman Consulting specializes in specific types of sales events though.

During a significant change in your business, a store relocation, a store closing, or a change in business ownership, a big sales event can be a great help. It can generate more revenue for you to build up your savings for what comes next, whether that’s a new career path or the end of your professional life.

But at the same time, you’ll be so focused on everything you need to do in this situation that you may not have the time or energy to plan out a sales event. It might fall to the bottom of the list of priorities, leaving you with a missed opportunity.

Even if you manage your sale on your own though, you’ll be faced with dwindling inventory. Whatever your reason for running such a sales event, the point is to liquidate your inventory and free up capital. As a result, the last thing you want to do is invest in purchasing more inventory. But the more you liquidate, the less appealing your sale will be to potential buyers.

That’s where Silverman Consulting comes in. We provide additional inventory to you on loan, which means you won’t miss out on potential sales opportunities. At the same time, you won’t have to invest in more inventory which you wanted to sell off in the first place.

A Silverman Consulting sales event can generate more than double the amount of revenue than you projected.
